Carissa's One!

Carissa turned one on February 27th. We had a little party planned on the 28th, but we had to postpone it. Carissa's Grandpa Frank made an unexpected visit to the hospital. More on that later.

This first year with Carissa has just flown by. She is such a joy. She is a very happy girl...always smiling and trying to catch the eye of anyone near. She has started babbling a lot as if she is making sentences. Her favorite things are her "blankie", her brother, getting ready for baths (she loves to hear the water running) and smiling. She's been slower to want to eat solid foods, but now with two little teeth coming in she's having more fun exploring finger foods. Of course, this means more mess for Mommy to clean up, but it is worth it getting to watch her explore and master new skills.

Today she really started to master the baby walker. She hasn't learned how to back up or turn it around when she gets to a dead end. She knows how to show her frustration, but once she's freed up to move forward again it's all smiles! Here's a little video of her new skill!
