Halloween '08
This first picture cracks me up. It shows the comedian side of Will with his funny face. He can be dramatic, in a funny way.
Will with our neighbor "Super Isaac"
Will with another neighbor, his buddy Austin

Posing for pictures is quite a challenge. I can't get the two of them to smile at the camera at the same time.

Oil Ranch '08
Will, Carissa and I went to the Oil Ranch with our Sunday school class mom's group. They have a train, hay rides, petting zoo, cow milking, pony rides, a bounce house and a pumpkin patch. The bounce house was one of Will's favorite things. One time he jumped too close to the door and fell out right on his head. I had Carissa in the baby carrier so I couldn't jump to his rescue. By the time I bent down, he was on his feet looking a little dazed and confused. I asked him "How do you feel?" I think since I didn't make a huge scene or fuss over it he just smiled and jumped right back into the bounce house. That kid has a hard head

September Vacation to Arkansas
Sorry it has taken me so long to post. We went to Arkansas at the beginning of September and at the end of the vacation Hurricane Ike was about to make a visit to our neck of the woods. We extended our stay a little. We had some damage from the storm, but nothing compared to the damage a lot of others sustained.
The vacation was a lot of fun. It certainly is different with children. It was great to get away and be with Brad for a full week without him having to go into work. I wouldn't really call it a restful time in the sense of sleep, but it was good to be out in God's creation and to slow down from every day life.
Here is a slide show from our time

August in Review
Will gave us a few good quotes in August that are worth sharing. At bedtime one night, Will looked at my face and asked "what's that on your cheek?" Did I have a pimple? I asked him what he saw. He said "Why do you have sprinkles?". I said "That's how God made me. He gave me freckles." Then he asked "Why did Jesus make me a boy?" I told him God knew he would make a great little boy...and he is, bruises and all. He asks the question "why" like most 2 year olds. Sometimes it's a challenge to come up with answers that satisfy him.
Last week Will was helping his daddy in the yard. Brad was trimming bushes and Will had a small rake and was raking up leaves on the ground. It wasn't quite going the way he wanted and he told his daddy "The rake's not working. It needs new batteries." He thinks everything has batteries in it.
Carissa is a fun and happy girl. She is now 6 months and is doing new things all the time. She is a very smiley girl and is always happy to have someone talking to her and smiling at her. She gets a very big smile on her face and most of the time lets out a belly laugh when her big brother pays attention to her. She is attempting to crawl, but usually just scoots herself around in a circle or backwards. She is a very active girl who wants to be on the go. When she is set down on her back she usually quickly turns over or does an eternal crunch that pains me to watch. Recently she has started grabbing her toes and has attempted to taste them. It is very cute. The whole family did these toe touches and stretches with her recently. She the pic below! She just doesn't want to relax. Carissa DOES NOT like eating food and still wakes up nightly to nurse. I am ready for a full night's rest!!
Here are some favorite pics from August:

For a while, nap time was a constant battle. I would let Will play in his room while Carissa and I took naps, but when I would wake up I almost always found him asleep, on the floor, surrounded by toys.

We went visit to Oklahoma to see Aunt Suzy and the family.
We went to a really neat pool with cousins Gracie and Maggie.

Carissa loved the globe...she really focused in on Hawaii. I think she was telling me that's where our next vacation should be.

Tickle time! The girls were getting Will back for tackling them constantly during our stay!

On our way back home we stopped and ate with my good friend Traci and her family. These are her girls, Alyssa and Macie.

We stayed with Nana and Granddad on the way back home and Will got to meet the new kids.
